“Threats Observatory for Young People” meeting

On 23rd May 2018 in the Marshal’s Office in Poznan the meeting within “Threats Observatory for Young People” took place.

During the meeting the following presentations and discussions were held:

  • Commissioner Michal Krolikowski from the Regional Police Headquarters in Poznan presented the most important activities undertaken within the Observatory: “Two sides of the network” introducing threats that occur on the Internet, project titled “Drugs destroy life”, an information campaign addressed to older people, developed in cooperation with the Foundation of Bank Zachodni WBK, an educational lesson showing how to behave in case of a threat, including a terrorist threat;
  • Maciej Radziemski, Strategic Director of the LuckyYou Marketing Agency, as a guest of the Observatory meeting, presented new opportunities to effectively reach out to young people through information campaigns based on social media. In the presentation, he pointed out the need to enhance and make more attractive the ways of communication with our target groups (children and youth) in terms of activities conducted within the Observatory projects;
  • In the next presentation, Natalia Jarmuzek-Troczynska from the Polish Platform for Homeland Security presented the current state of work carried out within the European project MINDb4ACT. The project is conducted under the Horizon 2020 Program and deals with the issue of counteracting radicalization in various social groups. During the presentation, the possibilities of involvement Observatory partners in to the MINDb4ACT were also presented;
  • The last presentation of Jakub Jasiczak, President of the Special Purpose Company of the University of Economics in Poznan, concerned the substantive and functional assumptions of the educational game in the area of cyber threats, which is being prepared within the Observatory. The game is created on the basis of a cooperation agreement between the Foundation of Bank Zachodni WBK – financing the project and the Polish Platform for Homeland Security;
  • The meeting ended with a discussion on the current role of the Observatory and future activities, including the initiative to create “Local Observatories” in the Wielkopolska region.

  • Wielkopolska Voivodship Office in Poznan;
  • Faculty of Educational Studies at the University of Adam Mickiewicz in Poznan;
  • Regional Center of Social Policy in Poznan;
  • Teacher Training Center in Poznan;
  • The Education Office in Poznan;
  • Special Purpose Company of the University of Economics in Poznan;
  • The Education Office in Poznan;
  • Polish Police – Regional Police Headquarters in Poznan;
  • Polish Platform for Homeland Security.
